About

I love pets, animals, and race horses. Shouldn’t they have their own say? I think they should, and that’s why I created this blog, to help them along.

I am from a rural community in Ohio, lived nine years in Vermont, then returned to my native Henry County. I spent 10 years in the 1980s and 1990s driving motor routes and writing for local newspapers. I attended several writing seminars and classes and graduated from the Famous Writers School in Westport, Connecticut with a Certificate in “Fiction Writing”. I also worked in area factories before retiring in 2008.

In my early youth, I watched the black and white television broadcasts of  Thoroughbred Native Dancer racing his way to fame. He was the only white fella on the screen, and he was easy to follow as he galloped to victory after victory.

I can’t remember when my family members, or myself, didn’t have a dog around the house. We’ve done our share of rescuing, and we’ve all benefitted from the friendship of a canine pal.

This blog is dedicated to all God‘s wild and domesticated creatures who trust humans and work to please their keepers.

Horses and Animals Are Talkin’ is my Second Primary blog at WordPress. My Writing Life Xposed is my Primary blog, here:

We seem to share some old stomping grounds in VT and CT. Lovely to meet you, Barbara, and visit your fun blog. I find nature immensely soothing. This will be a wonderful place to visit.

Like-wise, DWP! WordPress is fab for meeting writers and readers of passion. Yes, I lived in VT for some nine years, around Barre and Montpelier and Northfield. My two children were born there. In CT, I had a best, best friend (originally from VT!)
